This year dark colours are all the rage for Chirstmas. From decorative ornaments to soft furnishing, and from flowers to vases, everything seem to be darker than normal. Rich red, dark gold and black are really the stars this season. Myterious and sumptious, these colours are not for everyday, but just perfect for the festive season. If you are tired of the traditional green and red chirstmas christmas colour scheme, why not go for black for a stylish makeover this year!?

There are four major ways you can use black without making the decorations looking boring. Just bear them in mind and you will have an outstandingly stylish christmas!

1. Use candles to add warmth. Candles are vital to in creating atmosphere. It will transform the room and complete the look. Use them high to create space and low to create cosiness. They also work well with black, so use them.

3. Match glittery or metallic objects with black to create contrast and interest. For instance, a wreath with black ribbons can be contrasted with shiny gold tedy bears ornaments for a stylish contradiction.

4. Repetition created impact. On a long table, group vases of same shapes and height and fill in flowers. If using glass vases, try adding in food colourings, say red, to create visual interests.  Or the simplest way is to buy baubles with black patterns and display them attractively in a round bowl or tray.
